Vests are convenient and versatile. You can wear them over tee shirts, blouses and sweaters. It’s nice to wrap up in cosy vests; with its comfortable length and width around the hips it is easy to do so.
The Sustrum Vest and Tunic is created using modular knitting, with two elongated double modules with additional short rows and a quadruple module/yoke on top so that it fits nicely. These patches create a unique look that is an eye catcher immediately. The step-by-step photos in the pattern make this knit suitable for beginners as well.
Includes instructions how to knit a tunic; and also a workshop how to knit the vest or tunic longer or shorter or use thinner and thicker yarn.

Materials:
Vest: Katia Basic Merino Flash, 52% Merino/48% Acrylic, 50 g/ 120 m yardage, 8 (8, 9, 11, 12, 13) skeins, 450 g for size 46/48 (about 1000 m for size 46/48)
or: any other desired yarn that meets the gauge or 6-ply sock yarn
Tunic: Opal Hundertwasser 6-ply sock yarn, colourway 2120, 150g / 420 m, 3 (3, 3, 4, 4, 4) skeins, (about 390 grams and 1100 m for size L/XL)
or: any other desired yarn that meets the gauge or 6-ply sock yarn
for both: Circular needles: 4 mm, 4.5 mm and 6 mm / US 6, 7, 10 (crochet hook D to pick up stitches if desired); removable stitch markers.
The different needle sizes make sure that the cast on is not too tight and the yoke is not too floppy.
Gauge: (about 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4″ in main pattern after blocking)
With 4 mm/US 6 needles: 22 stitches x 36 rows
With 4,5 mm/US 7 needles: 20 stitches x 34 rows
