Tutorial XL doubleface potholders „Raja and Marlin“

Product description

Do you love the sea and its inhabitants? Are you a fan of rays or swordfish? If you want to bring a piece of your vacation home, these double-sided, crocheted potholders are a great way to do so. The instructions include two different designs: a ray and a swordfish.

If you like needlework and also want to try a new technique, this tutorial is for you. The doubleface technique is not difficult to learn, but offers the possibility to create truly individual potholders. It's up to you whether you want it for yourself or as a gift for someone who loves the sea, especially rays or swordfish. It could also be for someone named Raja or Marlin.

The special thing about these potholders is that you can create two completely different sides for one potholder. The technique also makes the potholders nice and thick and therefore insulating excellently. At the same time, you save on sewing the threads - except for the finish - as they are worked directly into the potholder.

If there is anything in the instructions that you do not understand or if you have any questions about the technique, please simply ask by e-mail.

Skills Required / What You'll Receive

Basic knowledge in crochet (chain stitch, single crochet, slip stitch) is required.

Level of difficulty: easy (for beginners)

Knowledge of the doubleface technique is not required. The technique is explained in detail in the instructions. If you are using this technique for the first time, you should first crochet a small test piece according to the instructions in order to grasp the principle. After that, implementation is not difficult anymore.

With this download you will receive a detailed, 14-page PDF file with the description and photos of the technique in German and English (US terminology). The description contains the graphic counting templates and colored number blocks for each row. In addition, instructions of the basic technique of doubleface crochet with enlarged photos and a video tutorial are provided. The files are for personal use only!

Size Information

The finished pot holders have a size of approx. 22 cm x 22,5 cm.

Materials List

To make a pair of potholders like the ones shown, you will need four balls of yarn (e.g., Schachenmayr Catania - 100% cotton, 125 m per 50 g - or a comparable quality yarn), 2 balls in a natural color and 2 balls in a contrasting color (here, Schachenmayr Catania Denim Teddy), and a crochet hook that is suitable for the thickness of the yarn.

If you like my instructions, I will be happy to receive a positive review.
