The LIGHTDROPS Shawlette is an exceptionally lightweight piece that sits comfortably and almost imperceptibly around the neck. Ideally worked in cashmere or cashmere blends, it is designed to provide warmth without adding weight.
The pattern includes instructions for four sizes, which result from different yarn weights and the use of one or two skeins. You can choose to knit it with a single strand of DK-weight yarn or with two strands of lace-weight yarn held together. Even in the largest version using two skeins, the finished shawlette remains under 50 grams in total weight.
The fabric is nearly reversible. The yardage has been calculated to use up nearly all of the recommended yarn, leaving only minimal leftovers.
The knitting chart for size 1 is included in this attached file. The charts for all rows of sizes 2 to 4 are available as separate files for download.
DK (Double Knitting) and Lace are terms used to describe yarn weights. DK is medium weight, while Lace is very fine.
The LIGHTDROPS Shawlette is a great beginner-friendly project. Links to video tutorials for all required techniques are included, with corresponding QR codes provided at the end of the pattern.
