Crochet Pattern - Larry the Penguin

Meet Larry, a fun-loving and adventurous little penguin!

This is the first pattern I ever made. It’s a straightforward and beginner-friendly design. Have a try and make your own little friend.

This crochet pattern is written in English, using standard American crochet language. With this downloadable pattern, you can make this fun-loving little penguin. It does NOT give you the finished product.

The pattern has been designed by me and no artificial intelligence has been used in any step of the creation. The pattern has also been tested by other crochet-lovers and provides you with detailed instructions with lots of pictures, illustrations and recommendations. All the required information needed to complete this toy is listed in the written pattern. The penguin is worked in spirals, and you can use any wool and hook size you wish.

The pattern requires basic crochet skills and is suited for confident beginners.

The following techniques are used in this pattern:

• single crochet stitch
• chain stitch
• increases with 2 & 3 stitches
• decreases with 2 & 3 stitches
• slip stitch
• back loop only
• front loop only
• multiple colour changes

The size of the finished penguin is about 8 cm (3.2 inches) in height. However, this depends on the type of yarn, the tension, the hook size and the preferred technique.

• Crochet hook (size 3.5 mm)
• Yarn: Lettlopi black, white & orange, but any yarn can be used
• Fiberfill
• Security eyes (size 5 mm), but can vary depending on the yarn and hook size used
