Beach Cover Up / Sweater "Daisy"

Make a beautiful and airy sweater or dress with this easy-to-follow pattern. It can be worn over a tank top or bikini. It is a quick project as it is made with a crochet hook that is much bigger than what your chosen yarn calls for.
The pattern has been written to be made-to-measure. You use your own measurements to determine the size while crocheting. You can use any type of yarn. Feel free to experiment with the pattern, you can even make a dress from it.
The pattern is quite open to different types of yarn and crochet hooks. The most important thing is, that the crochet hook is considerably bigger than what would normally be used for the yarn you will use.

This pattern does not include a basic crochet course. You need to know how to crochet chains, single crochets, double crochets and slip stitches.
Special techniques that are used in this pattern will be explained in greater detail and with many pictures and videos. These techniques include Crab Stitch (reverse single crochet), Magic Ring and Standing Double Crochet.
There are links to videos for the Magic Ring and the Standing Double Crochet. Both techniques are optional but result in a neater look of your finished piece.

The cover up can be made-to-measure.

yarn (for a size 36/38 I used about 350g bulky yarn, held with a double strand, for the dress version I used about 400g of lace weight yarn and I used 6 strands at once)
crochet hook 12mm (or according to your chosen yarn, but the hook needs to be much bigger than what would be the normal hook size for your chosen yarn)
crochet hook 7mm (for the edging) (depending on your chosen yarn, the second hook should be a little smaller than the first hook) needle to sew together and sew in the ends
scissors
stitch markers
