I’ve made Shannon the shark using a jumbo #7 weight yarn. This is ideal for a soft and huggable plush toy and is a pretty quick make. You can decide if you want to make your shark with or without the white underside piece. Shannon can also be made in super chunky yarn, with a smaller crochet hook. She is 26.5 inches long in jumbo yarn (when made with the recommended materials) - in super chunky weight yarn she is 15.5 inches long.

(A stitch marker and row counter are useful)
A small amount of black yarn for the smile and gills (I've used super chunky weight yarn for this)
A small amount of white Aran yarn for sewing the underside piece
