Gestrickten Schal aufschneiden?

Ihr Lieben,
ich habe einen selbst gestrickten Schal, den ich nicht mehr trage. Ich weiß, dass er sich schlecht aufziehen lassen würde, die Wolle verfilmt regelrecht, wenn man das versucht.
Meine Idee: Aufschneiden und die Schnittstelle mit der Nähmaschine versäubern und dann daraus ein Stirnband nähen.
Würde das funktionieren? Was meint ihr?
