Farbwechsel innerhalb einer Reihe

Hallo,
wie macht ihr das, wenn ihr z. B. 20 Maschen in der einen Farbe strickt, 20 Maschen in einer anderen und dann wieder zur ersten Farbe wechselt?
Lasst ihr die Fäden mitlaufen oder schneidet ihr ab?
Da ich selten solche Farbwechsel arbeite, kann ich mir das so schlecht merken.

Ich würde den Faden nicht mitlaufen lassen sondern beim Farbwechsel die Fäden verkreuzen, dass keine unschöne Löcher entstehen
