Tunisian Crochet Mosaic Potholders SCALA

This striking mosaic stitch pattern is easy to crochet and it makes the colors shine brightly.
These Potholders are made double sided for extra thickness.
A border of crab stitches is used to join the squares.

You can work each side in different or the same main colors, just as you like.

If you haven't made Tunisian mosaic patterns before, this stitch pattern is an easy way to get into this technique.

Yarn needed for 2 Potholders:
Each square (make 4):

• approx. 20 g. in main color
• 3 x 8 g. in contrast colors

Borders (make 2):
approx. 5 g. in color of your choice

When each side of the potholders is made in a different main color, 50 g. per color is needed.

Tunisian crochet hook no. 4 - 4,5 mm (US G/6, UK 7 - 8) or suitable for your yarn,
30 cm (12 in) long or with cable

Crochet hook no. 3 - 3,5 mm (US D/3 - E/4, UK 11 - 9) for the border
