Blooming Star Ornament

You can crochet this Christmas ornament or gift tag in only two rounds. It is perfect for your boho style or farmhouse decor.

The difficulty is in fact easy: you know the basics of crochet.
The stitches used are (US terms): slip stitch, chain, single crochet, double crochet, treble crochet, double crochet 2 stitches together, double crochet 3 stitches together.
You can download the pattern as pdf with lots of pictures and detailed description. It comes with a blocking template you can print out.

Depending on the yarn you use, the size will be different. Use a cotton yarn (yarn weight Sport - 5ply | Fine (2)) and the star will measure about 7cm. Or use a bulky wool (yarn weight Bulky - 12ply | Bulky (5)) and the star will be about 12cm in diameter.

For a 7cm (2.8 in) star
• crochet hook 3mm (US size 2)
• cotton yarn: yarn weight Sport - 5ply | Fine (2)

For a 12cm (4.7in) star
• crochet hook 5mm (US size 8)
• wool: yarn weight Bulky - 12ply | Bulky (5)
I used myboshi No.1

• scissors, sewing needle
• For the blocking: fabric stiffener or wood glue and water,
pins, cling film, template, foam board or thick cardboard
• For embellishments (optional): beads, tassels, glitter
