I started with buttons and buttonholes to the waist as I wanted it to be open from the waist downwards.

6 buttons 15 mm Ø
I started with buttons and buttonholes to the waist as I wanted it to be open from the waist downwards. If you want to have buttons over the whole length you need more buttons. The spacing between 2 buttons are 6 cm – for the entire length you need another 6 to 7 buttons (depending if you want to start with the buttons in the valance or not).
Needles: 4 mm (US 6) circular needle min. 80 cm / 32'' length, you need it for the valance
1 additional double point needle (help-needle) also size 4 mm (US 6)
1 crochet hook size 3.50 mm (E-4)
Gauges: 24 stitches, 34 rows to 10 cm / 4'' knitted with 4 mm (US 6) needles -
Stockinette stitch, blocked
