This pattern is perfect for beginners. It's written row by row. You work several patterns alternating with two colors. You need a gradient in fingering weight with 600m (656yds) and a light variegated yarn in the same weight but only with 400m (436yds).
There are no purl stitches, but you should be able to work these:
knit
kfb (increase 1 stitch)
yarn over
k2tog
bind off loose
Every shawl should be blocked after finishing, to show the pattern better.
I personally block very hard, that's why my Magnifica has 230cm (90 inch) width and 120cm (47 inch) down.
The finished size depends on your knitting tension and also with your yarn and blocking tension.

400m (436yds)/100g variegated yarn (fingering weight)
3,5mm (US 4) circular needle 80 - 100cm (32 - 42")

Es hat eine fertige Größe von etwa 230 x 120cm, je nachdem wie stark es nach fertigstellung gespannt wird.
