Monkey Ape hanging on lamp - a crochet pattern and construction manual in one.

With the crochet pattern you can create the charming monkey Ape.

The crochet instructions are also suitable for beginners who want to improve their skills.

The PDF templates are printed out, assembled and transferred to the plywood,
so you can easily recreate the complete lamp with leaf, ladybugs and branch.

The lamp can be built with E14 or E12 (US) lamp sockets.
Each step is described in detail and illustrated with pictures.

Knowledge required for the lamp:

• Saw with a jigsaw, drill holes and painting wood.

Necessary knowledge for the monkey:

• magic ring
• single crochet

Size:

• The lamp is approx. 24"/60cm long, 14"/35cm wide and 12"/30cm high (without monkey).
• The finished monkey is approx. 15" inch/36cm tall.

For the lamp you need:

• drill with drill bit set + countersink
• jigsaw with curved saw blade
• 2x screws #6 x 1 3/4" (3,5x45mm)
• 1x screws #9 x 2 3/4" (4,5x70mm)
• plywood 1/2 2' x 4' (1000 x 600 x 10mm)
• wood glue
• 120 grit sandpaper + sanding block
• 2x screw clamps
• 3x light socket E14 or E12 (US)
• 3x LED bulbs E14 or E12 (US)
• pencil + eraser
• brush
• acrylic paint in white, light green, dark green, brown, red, black
• optional: touch-up pen in white / black and clear lacquer spray
• side cutter
• wirre stripper
• crimping tool
• cable stripper
• little slotted screwdriver
• 2x insulated butt splice -blue & 2x wirre conectors (or in USA 4 wire nuts)
• 18 AWG (0,75mm2) PVC Electric Wire

For the monkey you need:

• Light (US) / Light Worsted (UK) / 240m~100g (EU) Wool in each 1x yellow, light brown, white, blue and a little bit black e.g. Zeeman Royal
• Crochet hook F (US) / 8 (UK) / 4,0mm (EU)
• Scissors
• Sewing needle
• Stitch marker
• Pin's to fix parts together
• Filler cotton
• Safety eyes 0,5 inch
