MATERIALS AND TOOLS

  • Yarn
I used a bit more than one skein of beige “Khlopok Travka” by Kamteks (65% cotton, 35% polyamide) that has approximately 220 m in a 100 g skein).
  • Strong smooth thread matching the color of your main yarn to sew the pieces together if your main yarn is fluffy and you can’t use it to assemble the toy.
  • Strong smooth black thread to needle sculpt the paws.
  • Matching crochet hook. I used 2.0 mm crochet hook.
  • Stuffing
  • Tapestry needle
Two black beads or half beads for the pupils of the eyes (I used 4 mm in diameter) or read-made eyes.
  • Black or brown polymer clay to make the nose (instructions are given). You can use a ready-made nose as well (approximately 35 mm wide for the toy 35 cm/13.8 inches long), or crochet it (instructions are given – you will need small amount of black yarn in this case).
  • Aluminum foil (if you plan to make the nose using polymer clay).
  • White polymer clay to make the whites of the eyes.
  • Varnish (if you are going to make the nose using polymer clay).
  • Brush to brush up the toy (you can use Velcro instead).
  • Scissors
  • Any material to tint the toy: oil pastels, pencils, oil paints, etc.
  • Transparent glue
  • PVC covered copper wire for the wire frame – I used approximately 110 cm/43.3 inches of wire 2 mm in diameter and 60 cm/23.6 inches of wire 0.5 mm in diameter (for the ears).
  • Fabric tape
