A scarf with plenty of twists and turns – and a rather unusual name! The Zackenbarsch is an easy-going knitting project for anyone who enjoys relaxed knitting but still wants to create something a little different.
Its distinctive shape is created by simple increases and decreases worked in a straightforward, repeating pattern. The scarf is knitted entirely in garter stitch, allowing you to focus on the relaxing rhythm of your knitting. This also makes the Zackenbarsch a lovely project for beginner knitters.
One of its best features is that it is perfect for knitting while watching TV. Once you have familiarised yourself with the pattern repeat, you can simply sit back and enjoy the rhythm of your needles.
You are also free to make the design your own. Whether you choose cosy wool, cheerful colours or subtle natural shades, you decide what your very own Zackenbarsch will look like. And, of course, you can choose exactly how long you want to keep knitting.
What to expect:
Whether you want a little ornamental fish, a fully grown grouper or perhaps even a whale shark – the choice is yours when it comes to size. Your Zackenbarsch will keep growing for as long as you feel like knitting.
So you decide whether your scarf should remain fairly compact or become long enough to wrap around your neck several times. This is particularly practical if you want to use a particular yarn: simply keep knitting for as long as your yarn supply lasts or until your personal Zackenbarsch has reached the desired size.
My Zackenbarsch measures approximately 31 cm at its widest point. Its length is approximately 160 cm.
3 balls of Inverno by Lana Grossa.
Unfortunately, Inverno by Lana Grossa is no longer being produced.
For the Zackenbarsch, however, that's not a problem at all.
You are completely free when it comes to yarn. The scarf can be knitted with different types of yarn. All you need is a circular needle that suits your yarn.
A lot of hard work and love goes into my designs. Please respect my work and observe the copyright. My patterns are for personal use only.
You can download the pattern immediately after receipt of payment.
