PDF pattern for a very versatile shawl.
The Hills of Alsace" is the third design in my "Heimweh & Fernweh" (Homesickness & Wanderlust) series. Alsace is a region near my home, featuring beautiful villages with his-toric half-timbered houses and castles set amidst endless wooded hills.
Worked in either Merino or a Merino-mohair blend—depending on your preference—it adds the perfect finishing touch to any outfit. It also looks great in a gradient yarn, called “Bobbel” in german and you maybe known this as a gradient yarn cake or bobbel, too.
You can also sew buttons along the inner edge to create different draping styles. Naturally, you can customize the colors to suit your own taste. "The Hills of Alsace" is also a wonder-ful project for using up yarn scraps, as each stripe can be knitted in a different color.
Knitting in rows, increases, decreases, knit and purl stitches, yarn-overs
"The Hills of Alsace" is an almost perfect semicircle with a diame-ter of appr. 155 cm (61 inches).
It measures about 25 cm (10 inches) from the cast-on edge to the bind-off edge.
