Instructions + pattern for a skort (sizes 80–140) shorts with a wrap-style

The skort is a trendy summer garment: shorts with a wrap-style skirt panel that covers the front. The style is inspired by sports skirts for tennis or street hockey, which have built-in shorts. The waistband is smoothly sewn at the front, creating a flat tummy effect and a slim silhouette. At the back, a casing with elastic is sewn in, making it easy to slip on without a complicated closure.

The construction is kept as simple as possible and is easy to manage even for beginners. There are no complicated steps involved, and all stages of the process are clearly described in the sewing instructions, with plenty of photos and detailed diagrams so you can easily follow along step by step.

The pattern is provided in 11 individual sizes: 80/12M, 86/18M, 92/24M, 98/3T, 104/4T, 110/5T, 116/6, 122/7, 134/8-9, and 140/10. Each size is shown in a different color—for example, red always represents size 92. As your child grows, you can simply use the next size and sew the skort again.

The design is well suited for slightly sturdier cotton fabrics such as lightweight denim and gabardine. With a simple waistband, the skort looks cool, but you can also highlight the wrap effect with a decorative button.
