The NURIS Jumpsuit starts with the straps and is then worked—first in rows, and later in the round—all the way down to the heels.
Since babies don’t all have the same body shape, the design includes two points of adjustment.
Chest and back section: This part is worked in garter stitch. The garter texture is naturally stretchy, allowing the romper to “grow” a few extra centimeters with the baby.
Ribbed cuffs on the legs: These are designed to be folded up at first. As the baby grows, they can simply be worn unfolded, making the leg length adjustable.
The pattern includes two versions—one with buttons on the straps and one without. Even with closed straps, putting the romper on and taking it off is easy: the straps can simply be slipped over the shoulders, so there’s no need to undo the buttons.
The diaper area is designed with extra room, so the jumpsuitalso fits babies who wear cloth diapers. From size 86/92 onward, the pattern also includes a version with fewer stitches in the crotch area for children who no longer wear diapers. (This does not imply that a child of this size is expected to be potty trained—every child develops at their own pace ).
The jumpsuit is named after little Nuri.
The pattern issuitable for confident beginners. You can find links to suitable YouTube videos for the techniques used.
