Basic instructions doubleface crochet

The double face crochet technique is not very well known yet, but it offers the possibility to design both sides individually.

The special thing about these potholders is that you can design two completely different sides for one potholder. This technique also makes the potholders nice and thick and therefore excellent insulators. At the same time, there is no need to sew the threads - except at the end - because they are worked directly into the potholder.

These basic instructions and the accompanying video are included with all my Doubleface crochet patterns. So if you want to buy a pattern from me, you don't need these instructions. However, if you just want to try the technique, you can try it with these instructions. Only the technique is explained and shown, no pattern is included. Basic knowledge in crochet (chain stitch, single crochet, slip stitch) is required.

Sample, single size

To try this technique, you will need two colors of wool (e.g. Schachenmayr Catania or equivalent: 100 % cotton, length 125 m per 50 g) and a crochet hook that matches the thickness of the wool.
