With these crochet instructions, you can crochet the sloth appliqué yourself. The appliqué is versatile and can be sewn onto hats or baby blankets, for example.

The instructions are suitable for beginners and are available in German and English (US terminology).

The PDF file contains step-by-step instructions with numerous photos and crochet notation. Crochet lessons are not included; you should have mastered the basic crochet techniques.

You should be able to crochet these stitches:

• Chain stitches
• Slip stitches
• Single crochets
• Double crochets

You should be able to do these techniques:

• Increase stitches
• Crochet in rounds
• Crochet in rows
• Back stitches
• Satin stitches

The finished appliqué is approx. 2 1/2" tall with a crochet hook size of 1 1/2.

• For this pattern I used 100% cotton yarn (Gründl Cotton Fun (50g/115m)), but you can also use any other yarn. Colors used: light grey (27), black (16), white (01), cream (02)
• Black and white embroidery thread
• Crochet hook size: 1 1/2 (or a crochet hook that matches your chosen yarn)
• Tapestry needle
• Chenille needle
• Scissors
