The PES format is the standard file type for storing embroidery design data on Brother, Baby Lock, and Bernina Deco machines. It holds essential information like stitch coordinates, thread colors, and density settings that instruct the machine on how to execute the pattern. Due to its high compatibility with various digitizing software, it is one of the most frequently exchanged formats in the machine embroidery community. Users should note that multiple versions of the PES format exist; saving a file in a version that is too new for an older machine model may prevent it from loading.
