Keep me warm - Shawl with fringe – crochet instruction

„Keep me warm“ is a shawl with a fringe on both ends.

The shawl is worked with two balls of yarn with a color gradient.
The pattern is effective both with bold colors as well as pastel ones.

Alternatively, you can crochet the shawl with longer fringes or without fringes – whatever suits you best.

The instruction is suitable for:

• intermediates

• experts

(As only basic stitches are needed for the pattern, in general, the instruction is also suited to experienced beginners. The challenge in this instruction is not the difficulty of the pattern, but the number of stitches that have to be worked.)

Knowledge of the following stitches is needed:

• chains

• single crochet (US) / double crochet (UK)

• double crochet (US) / treble crochet (UK)

The pattern of this shawl looks eleborate, but it is actually not very difficult, as only chains, single crochet and double crochet (US) stitches are needed. Therefore it is also suited for experienced beginners with good basic knowledge; more experienced crocheters can easily crochet the pattern while, for instance, watching TV.

You will receive written instructions with photos and a computer-designed crochet chart.

The completed shawl measures ca. 165 cm (approx. 65 inches) at the narrowest point and has a height of 26 cm (approx. 10,2 inches), worked with crochet hook 2,5 mm

The width and height of the shawl can easily be adjusted by increasing or reducing the number of stitches and rows.

I used the following yarn:

2 x 150 g (= 2 x 5,29 ounces) Lola 3-ply (50 % cotton, 50 % acrylic) by Garnmanufaktur
yardage: 500 m / 100 g
750 m / 150 g

(approx. 547 yards / 3,53 ounces and 820 yards / 5,29 ounces)

Color: Rising Sun (150 g) and
Fabelhaft (150 g)

gauge:
24 double crochet (US) / treble crochet (UK) = 10 cm = 3,94 inches

Of course you can crochet the shawl with any other types of yarn, just take in mind that the resulting measurements can differ.
