The blouse is hip-length and can be worn loosely or tucked into pants. The straight sleeves are wide and available in four lengths in the pattern. Alternatively, you can sew the sleeves with a ruffle hem.

Both the blouse hem and the sleeve hem can be gathered with elastic bands for a unique and stylish look.

For the best drape, use soft fabrics like viscose woven fabric or crêpe georgette. “Ida” is perfect as a light summer blouse to wear over a tank top or as a beach cover-up for your next vacation.

Fabric Recommendations

The “Ida” blouse works best with lightweight, drapey woven fabrics. Fabrics like viscose or silk are ideal, while crêpe georgette is also a great choice.

Woven cotton fabrics tend to be stiffer and don’t drape as well. However, you can add elastic to the hem to create a gathered effect, making these fabrics more suitable.

The table in the instructions provides details on the exact fabric requirements. The fabric width assumed here is 145 cm. Additionally, you’ll need a lightweight interfacing (e.g., G710, H180) for the neckline facings. If your fabric (such as cotton) is very stiff, you can skip the interfacing.
