Pattern Beautiful baby blanket

Product description

I designed this blanket for my grandson. The demanding young parents wanted a timeless elegant, warming and at the same time easy-care blanket, which should match all the colors in the children’s room and the baby’s clothes.

I chose a high quality pure merino yarn made from 100% new wool in the color white. It is a beautiful warm white, which goes very well with everything. I find the quality of merino wool to be second to none for babies. The merino wool warms the little ones in the most pleasant way, is temperature balancing and breathable. It is very soft and caresses baby’s delicate skin. And parents are pleased that it can be washed in the washing machine with cold wash without any problems.

I am sure that my grandson and his parents will enjoy the blanket for years.

I wish you much joy with this project - your "Ina knits".

Skills Required / What You'll Receive

As a pattern I have chosen an easy to knit structure pattern with a frame in a small bead pattern. This is quite uncomplicated and easy to work even by knitting beginners. In the knitting instructions I show and explain everything to you very precisely and step by step.

Size Information

My white blanket is about 90 x 90 cm (35 x 35inches), the smaller blue 60 x 60 cm (23.5 x 23.5 inches). The blanket can easily be knitted in other sizes.

Materials List

Materials

  • For blanket size of approx. 90 x 90 cm (35 x 35inches):
    Up to 400 g (0.90lb) "Merino+" from Lang Yarns
(100 % new wool Merino Superfine, yarn weight Aran (8 wpi), color as you like; for me: 152.0001) or other yarn with which the stitch test comes to the same result: 10 x 10 cm (3.9x3.9 inches) knitted in the small pearl pattern (explanation see below) result for me: approx. 20 stitches x 34 rows.

For my small blue blanket measuring about 60 x 60 cm (23.5x23.5 inches), I used 250 g (0.5lb) of the same yarn in the color no. 152.0178.

  • Circular Needle size 4.5mm (US: 7, UK: 7), At least 80 cm (30 inches) long
Since we need to knit a lot of stitches for the blanket, the choice of needle is very important. I prefer a metal needle, because the stitches slide down better here.
  • Darning needle, scissors, tape measure, 2 stitch markers

A good pattern
I bought this to make clothes for a niece's doll and they were so popular I ended up making them for the charity stall and some of her friends. They have become the "swap" item amongst them and new colours are always popular.
