In round 16 it says: knit 16 stitches - decrease 2x - decrease 2x again and then knit 16 stitches again. then 38 stitches are knitted in the 17th round.
in the 15th row there are 44 stitches left. in the 16th row there is then 4 decreases, i.e. minus 4 stitches _ I have 40 stitches. But the instructions continue in the 17th row with 38 stitches ?? I would like an explanation for that!

In round 15 I have 44 stitches. In round 16 I increase 4 stitches, why do you get 38 stitches in round 17? 44 minus 4 gives me 40. What do I do with the four stitches I have left in the middle? Am I misunderstanding something or is there an error in the instructions?.
