Crocheting is relatively easy, so it’s also well suited for advanced beginners. Basic crochet skills are required (working in rds, sl-st, sc, hdc, dc, increases and decreases).

The pattern is provided as a PDF file and includes 17 pages with numerous full-color images that describe and illustrate each step in detail.

A finished lantern measures 10, 12, 15, or 20 cm in diameter; the length is adjustable.

Required materials:

• Crochet hook size 3 or 4 (depending on ring size; see details on page 3 of the pattern)
• Cotton yarn in various colors (e.g., Catania/Schachenmayr, Catona/Scheepjes, Capri/Katia Cotton Quick/Gründl)
• 1 metal ring per lantern: 10, 12, 15, or 20 cm diameter
• Optional: LED light with remote control, electric tealight, solar bulb, etc.
• Optional: wooden beads, pompoms, feathers, charms
