These slippers are worked with two strands of yarn held together.
The first yarn is LANA GROSSA BASICS BEANIE yarn, 50% virgin wool and 50% polyacrylic. Each skein is 50 g / 55 m
The second yarn is LANA GROSSA COTTON PLUS yarn, 50% cotton and 50% acrylic. Each skein is 50 g / 130 m.
This cotton yarn is crucial—it gives the slipper stability and density and ensures that it retains its shape.
You can also use the following yarn combination:
The first yarn is Melissa Zepelin 100% acrylic (100 g / 115 mper skein).
The second yarn is Melissa Platinum Cotton (75 g / 150 mper skein).
Yarn usage depends on the slipper size. For one pair, size 42 (foot length 27 cm), I used:
2 skeins blue wool blend yarn
2.5 skeins gray wool blend yarn
2 skeins cotton yarn
You may use a different yarn. Fiber content and thickness may vary, so you’ll need to adjust your calculations.
Crochet hook 5.5 mm
