Looking for a creative way to spruce up your home with a unique accessory? Follow these instructions to make a double-sided, cow-motif crocheted potholder. It's a practical and colourful gift that will bring joy to your kitchen and make a great present for yourself or a loved one!
Double-sided crocheting makes it possible to design pot holders with two completely different patterns on each side. This technique also makes the pot holders nice and thick, giving them excellent insulating properties. You also save yourself the trouble of sewing up the ends, as these are worked directly into the pot holder.
If there is anything in the instructions that you do not understand or if you have any questions about the technique, please simply ask by e-mail.
Knowledge of the doubleface technique is not required. The technique is explained in detail in the instructions. If you are using this technique for the first time, you should first crochet a small test piece according to the instructions in order to grasp the principle. After that, implementation is not difficult anymore.
With this download you will receive a detailed, 18-page PDF file with the description and photos of the technique in German and English (US terminology). The description contains the graphic counting templates and colored number blocks for each row. In addition, instructions of the basic technique of doubleface crochet with enlarged photos and a video tutorial are provided.
The finished pot holders have a size of approx. 18,5 cm x 19,5 cm.
To make a pair of potholders, you will need approximately two balls of wool (such as Schachenmayr Catania) in a base color (natural or white) and one ball of wool in brown or black for the two-color version. For the three-color version, you will also need approximately half a ball of red wool. You will also need a crochet hook suitable for the wool's thickness.
If you like my instructions, I will be happy to receive a positive review.
