Varda at Nadja
The Varda at Nadja kaftan is a further development of my Varda dress and shirt pattern.
Nadja, one of my test seamstresses, took the characteristic silhouette and V-neckline from Varda, but dispensed with dividing seams in order to show off the pattern of her two fabric panels to best effect.
The striking cut-outs under the arms created a completely new design that immediately impressed me. With Nadja's consent, I developed it into a separate pattern – a kaftan in two versions:
Version 1: A long kaftan based on Nadja's idea, with a cut-out between the arm and the hem. Modern, airy and with a special detail that gives every look an individual touch. This model combines precision craftsmanship, creative cutting and a touch of extravagance.
Variation 2: Also a long kaftan, generously cut, classic and stylish – yet quick and easy to sew. Ideal as a house dress or as a light cover-up for the beach, garden and leisure time.
Translated with (free version)
The instructions and pattern are available in German and English.
The second version of the pattern is suitable for beginners, while the first version with cut-outs requires some experience.
The cut-out version is available in sizes XS to 3XL.
Both models look best when made from light, flowing woven fabric, but jersey is also an interesting option.
You will need 2 lengths approx. 3 metres
The eBook includes:
Bilingual instructions and pattern in German and English
Illustrated instructions
The pattern is available in A4, A0, US Letter and as a projector file, all in layers.
You can download the pattern immediately after receipt of payment.
