Knitting Pattern: Hat with cables and stripes for woman and children

This pattern is for an elegant yet fun-to-make hat, born from the need to match a hat to my new scarf.
You can make the hat for yourself and your little girl. The pattern includes measurements for different sizes.
This project requires an intermediate level of knitting skills, as the central section features a double parallel cable, adding to the challenge of changing colors at regular intervals.
The elastic ribbed brim makes the hat more comfortable to wear, as it easily adapts to different head sizes without feeling too tight or slipping off.
The number of color changes varies slightly: in the women’s version, there is one less color change while maintaining the same number of rounds as for the girls hat.

You should know how to cast on, how to increase, decrease, knit and purl.

The pattern is delivered in 2 sizes: woman and children (from age 6 to 12).

To knit this hat, I used Asian yarn by Lana Gatto. You can use the same yarn or a similar alternative which should be approx. 50g for 91m.
You’ll need one skein per color
—with the leftover yarn, you can make a matching cowl or even a second hat!
This soft and versatile wool acrylic blend comes in a variety of shades,
making it perfect for all kinds of winter fashion, including accessories.
The color combinations used are:
Women’s version: 10001 Natural White, 5250 Gray, 10046 Sand
Kid’s version (age 6 to 9): 978 Cream, 10008 Black, 10046 Sand
You’ll also need:
5.5mm circular needles with a 20cm cable or 40cm total length from tip to tip
(such as our Addi Premium needles).
Stitch markers, cable needles, and double-pointed needles for the decreases
