BPhdc

The Back Post Half Double Crochet (BPhdc) is a variation of the standard half double crochet that adds texture and depth to fabric. Instead of inserting the hook into the top loops, you work around the body (post) of the stitch from the previous row, approaching it from the back side of the work. This technique pushes the stitch ridge away from the viewer and is frequently paired with front post stitches to create ribbing.
