Crochet Pattern Chihuahuacrochet a sitting dog amigurumi dog

Hi, before I purchase the pattern for the Chihuahua, I would like to know is it possible to make it so it's laying down. It's for a special order it will be weighted as a comfort item for a young lady with anxiety issues. Thank you very much and look forward to hearing back from you.

The pattern downloaded, but I can't open it. What do I do?

I will have to learn what felting is for the brown details, and the long white fur on the chest and the tail.
