Herbeart is a diligent bear who loves to be on site. In his tool belt he has a lot of room for his tools. Because safety is really important for Herbeart, he always wears his safety jacket and his helmet at work. In his after-work hours he can put out his work wear and enjoy his leisure.
In this pattern I explain how to crochet your own builder Herbeart. You get a PDF file with 29 pages and many pictures!
For one bear you need:
♦ Yarn, for example: Schachenmayr Catania or Scheepjes Catona. Colors:
• White (ca. 50 g)
• Red (ca. 20 g) • Blue (ca. 30 g)
• Dark Brown (ca. 5 g) • Yellow (ca. 25 g)
• Black (Leavings)
♦ Crochet hooks:
-One in the smallest size which is recommended for your yarn
-One which is about 1 size bigger than the first one
♦ Fiberfill
♦ Safety eyes (if you like, in the size you prefer.)
♦ Button
To crochet the bear, you should know the following things: crochet in rows, crochet in rounds, chain stitches, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, increase and decrease, switch colors. (In the pattern I use US crochet terms!)
AHOI! For all who love the maritime style, my brandnew shawl and wrist warmers HAMBURG AHOI will be real fun to knit. But they look great in other colours as well – my test knitters realized the shawl wtj completely different colours and stripe design to match their wardrobe.
Whatever your choice – the outcome will be a wow!-piece.
Good to know: The bobbles are not knitted but crocheted. I included a tutoriol with many pictures.
Actually, I think crocheted bobbles are nicer than knitted ones, plus you avoid ugly floats on the backside. Another plus: You are completely free where to place them when the shawl is already finished. On the backside, there are many loose ends to be woven in, but this is worked much quicker than you would expect.
