Spiral socks for babies/children without heel, upper cuff in 2 var.

Crocheting soft spiral socks for babies and children in a knitted look for your child or grandchild is no problem at all with this pattern!

These PDF crochet pattern consist of illustrated tutorial for crocheting baby & children's socks with the spiral pattern for sizes 0 m. to 5,5 y. (without heel). These socks can either be crocheted with the upper cuff with sl st or with fpdc and bpdc (both variations are explained in the pattern).

Of course you can crochet these socks in your favourite colours. You can crochet these socks for winter as well as for summer, depending on the wool (see "Materials needed").

For the spiral pattern I have created a video with the explanation of the 7th and 8th rnd. The video is not in the public domain and can be viewed with the link (you can find the English subtitles by following the link). With this video, crocheting the spiral pattern works out much faster and easier.

Attention! The socks are crocheted partially (only the upper cuff) with the sl st. Crocheting with the sl st, inserted either in the back loops only or in the front loops only of the previous row, requires a little practice. Before you start crocheting, practice crocheting with an old thick wool (wool scraps). After a few practices, crochet with sl st will work out very quickly. Otherwise, crochet very loosely, take the crochet hook 0.5 to 1 size larger than recommended for your wool.

sc - single crochet
ch - crochet chain
dc - double crochet
fpdc - front post double crochet
bpdc – back post double crochet
sl st - slip stitch
