Project Hemp Crochet: BIG Hemp Shopper Bag

Crochet in a “sustainable” manner with hemp & cotton
consists of many Granny Squares in a natural striped look
with strong lacy straps
for city- and market shopping, beach, etc.

Skills Required / What You'll Receive

14-pages written tutorial with pics & additional diagrams
Skill level: Easy / Terminology: EU/US-American Crochet Terms.
It would be helpful to have experience in Crochet.
a richly illustrated pattern and a Stitch- & Supporting Guide will help you to work this amazing bag. You have to crochet with special stitches: deep extended double crochet (dEdc) / explained in pattern – which make your Granny Square Bag especially sturdy, strong and stretchable … a lot of space for shopping desires :-)

Measure unstretched h x w / ca. 42x41cm (16.5x16.1”)

Materials List

Work with cotton yarn e.g. (unpaid ad) Scheepjes Catona, Fingering/ 1 /group A/ 3 ply,
mercerized 100% cotton; 50 g (1.8 oz), 125 m (137 yds) yardage, Wpi: 19 and 100% hemp yarn with Wpi: ca.8; 50g/ca. 100m (109yds.) yardage; e.g. fibra natura Java or Rico Creative Natur

If you don´t have the chance to purchase matching hemp yarn you can work completely with cotton.
But note: Slightly thinner/thicker yarn, and/or smaller/larger hooks or smaller/larger numbers of squares might change the look and size.
You need hooks: EU Nr.3,0 (US C/2) and Nr.3,5 (US E/4)
Optional: Pearls, tassels, etc.
