Ich habe mir die Anleitung gekauft und kann jetzt erst damit anfangen zu häkeln. Leider finde ich aber die angegebene Wolle nicht, welche kann ich denn sonst noch nehmen. Lieben Dank im Voraus!

I purchased this pattern and am already noticing that the instructions are not clear at all. I am not even past the owl body. I don't understand what I am supposed to finish the tip once there are no more (ch 4) arches left . The pattern says, " Make your first cluster, 3dc into the chain space. Ch 1, DC into the ch space from the first cluster, ch 1 and 3dc." I have tried this and it does not look right no matter how I have tried. I need clarification. Can anyone help?

      PLEASE SEND MY A MAIL...i can help you...wolle@petra -perle.de

You start with the 3dc cluster between the clusters from previous row. Then a 3dc cluster between the next two clusters from previous row ( on picture left).
A ch, 1 dc into the first cluster pair. ( it is like a little bridge to connect both sides. Another ch and 3dc to finish the cluster pair on the left.
I hope this helps. I will check the pattern if i missed a step. Please feel free to message me if you have any more questions.

Hi I have the wings of love and the hedwig pattern but I want to do them in acrylic yarn as I m allergic to wool, could you tell me the best acrylic substitute please x
    • Petra Perle Author debie-buttle 3 years ago
hello and thanks for the compliment ... I only made the scarf with this one wool, it is a wool - synthetic mix ... I did not make the scarf with acrylic wool, so unfortunately I cannot give any information about it ... but I know that the scarf has been worked hundreds of times with different wool and different blends

Vielen Dank liebe Petra!

I have another question- when this owl shawl pattern was translated from Dutch/German (?) to English, did you also change the translation of the crochet stitches (US double crochets are different in other countries.)
  • michelle-strzelewicz Purchased 3 years ago
I bought this pattern (both English and Dutch) and it’s the English version that there are steps missing in the Body of the owl in the English version. Can you email me the correct English version? The Dutch) version has more photos as well. I have them both downloaded in my computer Something is definitely wrong with the English version. I’ve been crocheting for years and have done very intricate shawls.

I don't see the gauge for this pattern. Can you help me with this please?
    • Petra Perle Author ivon-rodriguez 3 years ago
What do you mean by gauge?
      • erinhking Purchased Petra Perle 3 years ago
American patterns for both knitting and crochet usually list a “gauge”, showing what size needle or hook was used to create a 4-inch by 4-inch block, and how many stitches and how many rows are in that block. That way, you can create a small sample, and adjust your needle/hook size as needed if you have a looser or tighter stitch than the person who made the pattern.
        • erinhking Purchased erinhking 3 years ago
Similarly unfortunate is that American yarn manufacturers don’t have a concept of “Lauflänge”. Instead there is a “weight” system, as can be see at
          https://www.craftyarncouncil.com/standards/yarn-weight-system
So it can sometimes be challenging to read a European pattern (even one written in beautiful English) and try to figure out what size needle/hook you will need, and how much yarn you will need, and even if the yarn you want to use is appropriate for the pattern to begin with.

            Material:
the yarn I used has a yardage of 115 m per 50 gr and is soft and fluffy (LUCCIO by ADRIAFIL). It contains a small amount of Lurex – which you can’t see in the photos... You will need
            white – 4 balls (if you want all-white wings it’s 8 balls)
light blue – 4 balls (or only 1
            for all-white wings)
            dark blue – 1 ball
            dove blue - 1 ball
4.5 crochet hook (you might need a bigger one because I crochet very loosely) darning needle, for a little sewing has to be done
        • Petra Perle Author erinhking 3 years ago
Such a calculation is not possible with this pattern because it is so elastic ... then the number is not correct .... but here it is very easy to use a wool size you are suitable for a needle 3-3.5 then nothing can go wrong
  • beverly-snow Purchased 3 years ago
Please let me know what yarn you reccomend. I cannot find the Luccio by ADRIAFIL. It has been discontinued.
