In mathematics, the Fibonacci numbers form a sequence, the Fibonacci sequence, such that each number is the sum of the two preceding ones, starting from 0 and 1

0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, …

The Fibonacci socks are inspired by the famous Fibonacci sequence. The lace pattern is repeated according to the Fibonacci numbers. The lace pattern is fun and easy to knit and the beautiful resulting socks are not only the right socks for the math nerds among us!

The socks are worked in rounds from cuff to toe and the pattern is written for the magic-loop method, but of course you can also use DPNs.

  • knit 2 stitches together

  • kitchener stitch

36/37 (38/39) 40/41 (42/43)

Suggested yarn:
1 skein sock yarn by To All The Yarns, 400 m/ 100 g (437 yds / 3,53 oz), you can use any other fingering weight sock yarn. Optional: some scraps for a contrasting cuff

Material:
2,5 mm circular needles (40 cm – Magic-Loop), tapestry needle, stitch marker

Gauge:
30 stitches / 41 rows over 10 cm x 10 cm of stockinette stitch
