Winter Jersey Balaclava Hat/ PDF Sewing Pattern/ Adults Children Sizes

PDF sewing pattern and photo tutorial for a warm hat that can be worn in winter, early spring, and late fall. This hat will keep your head and neck warm. It is made of thick knitwear with a soft fluffy fleece fabric lining. The hat will be suitable for daily walks, downhill skiing, and other outdoor sports activities.

Skills Required / What You'll Receive

The sewing pattern is very simple. In the photo tutorial, each step is accompanied by several color clear photos. Therefore, this hat can also be sewn by a beginner. The photo tutorial and sewing patterns are written in English.

Sewing patterns are with seam allowances. All measurements, both in the patterns and in the photo tutorial, are given in both inches and centimeters. Sewing patterns are given in US Letter size paper and A4 size paper. You will be able to print both US Letter and A4 separately.

The sewing patten file contains both a test square and a layout guide. The test square will help you determine if the pattern measurements are correct after printing. The layout guide will help you lay out the pattern pages in the correct order. But the photo tutorial will show you how to glue the individual pattern pages together to make one whole pattern.

Size Information

First, measure the circumference of your head, place the string or tape measure around your head about 1/4 inches (0,5 cm) above the ears, completely circling the head. Now that you know your head circumference look at which hat size from the size list is closest to your head circumference, and then choose a pattern of that size to be able to sew this hat for yourself.

The balaclava hat sewing pattern includes 7 sizes, Find your size:

XS size fits 19 3/4 inches (50 cm) head circumference,

S size fits 20 1/2 inches (52 cm) head circumference,

M size fits 21 1/4 inches (54 cm) head circumference,

L size fits 22 inches (56 cm) head circumference,

XL size fits 22 7/8 inches (58 cm) head circumference,

2XL size fits 23 5/8 inches (60 cm) head circumference,

3XL size fits 24 3/8 inches (62 cm) head circumference.

Materials List

To sew a balaclava hat then you will need:

Medium-thick, tightly knit jersey fabric,
Soft fleece fabric with a short pile,
Thick ribbed knit jersey fabric strip,
Cotton bias tape,
Matching color sewing machine thread.
