Table runner, placemat or shawl?
Whichever you want to knit, the Drops on Strings pattern is suitable for all three. With a nice gradient yarn and a matching solid contrasting yarn, you can create drops on strings with the help of simple slip stitches.

• Cotton yarn (100% cotton), yarn weight DK or Sport,
either a gradient yarn combined with a solid contrast yarn, e.g.:

or two solid yarns in contrasting colors
(100g of each color is enough for 5 pattern repeats + end rows and edges)
• 1 darning needle for weaving in the yarn ends
