Hat, scarf and fingerless gloves set "Emmental", 3 knitting patterns

Product description

Emmental is a collection of three accessories, all of them made out of fingering weight yarn and using the same stitch pattern. There are those little holes in them, reminding of Emmentaler cheese. The book starts with a photo tutorial for this special stitch. All patterns are written and contain a chart for the stitch pattern.

Emmentaler Hat

A beanie made out of fingering weight yarn with decorative holes in it. It is worked from the bottom to the top.

Difficulty level: advanced beginner (knitting in the round on DPNs or circular needles, making stitches from a gap that is several rounds below, decreases).

Yarn: Four Seasons Gründl Hot Socks Print (75% wool, 25% nylon; 210m/50g; 230yds/1.76oz), 1 ball. Sample in size adult medium used 130m (142yds).

Needles: 3mm/US 2 1/2, set of 5 DPNs or circular needle

Notions: yarn needle, 1 stitch marker (optional when working on circular needle)

Gauge: 24 stitches/38 rows in blocked stockinette stitch = 10cm/4in.

Sizes: child, teen, adult medium, adult large, 40, 45, 52, 57cm (16, 18, 20 3/4, 22 3/4in) in circumference, 15, 17, 19, 22cm (6, 6 3/4, 7 1/2, 8 3/4in) in length. It is a snugly fitting hat.

Emmentaler Scarf

There are those little round holes in it, just like in the tasty Swiss cheese. Those that weigh so little.

Other than that, this is a very easy to knit scarf which can be made out of a variety of yarns. The instructions are for the use of fingering weight yarn. Options for using other yarns are in the pattern.

Difficulty level: Advanced beginner (the most difficult part is to make stitches from a gap that is several rows below).

Yarn: Four Seasoons Gründl Hot Socks Print (75% wool, 25% nylon; 210m/50g; 230yds/1.76oz), 2 balls. Sample used 391m (428yds).

Needles: 3.5mm/US 4

Notions: yarn needle

Gauge: 21 stitches/32 rows in pattern = 10cm/4in.

Size: 160 x 20cm (64 x 8in). This is just a suggestion, the scarf can be worked to any size.

Emmentaler Fingerless Gloves

The gloves to match the Emmentaler Scarf and Emmentaler Hat with the same stitch pattern.

They are worked sideways in a fingering weight yarn. The back of the hand is covered by those decorative little holes, whilst the palm is worked in garter stitch. It is a very easy pattern. No thumb shaping is required.

Difficulty level: Advanced beginner (the most difficult part is to make stitches from a gap that is several rows below).

Yarn: Four Seasons Gründl Hot Socks Print (75% wool, 25% nylon; 210m/50g; 230yds/1.76oz), 1 ball. Sample used 88m (97yds).

okay
